Upon the arrival of the 68th birthday of New China and Mid-Autumn Festival, on the evening of 30th September, Anqing Foreign Language School hosted the Mid-Autumn Poetry Contest for teachers entitled ‘Full Moon& Round Heart’. Teachers celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with their original poetry reading to feel the traditional Chinese culture. Meanwhile, the judges were school leaders from different levels of both the east and west campuses.
In the first place, with melodious background music, a poem with the title of ‘The Moon Smiles’ made by Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli raised the curtain of the poetry reading session. Madam President told us how the first school boarders spent their Mid-Autumn Festival, which brought back the memories of all attendees.
In the second place, teachers from the Primary Division, Junior and Senior High Departments from both the east and west campuses showcased everyone their brilliant original poetry reading, such as ‘Autumn Scenery in Anqing Foreign Language School’, ‘Wait Peacefully’, ‘Bright Moon Affection’ as well as ‘My Thoughts Are Circular’. Evidently, each and every spectator was enchanted by the euphemistic melody and passionate recitation, which sounded like wind chimes in the mountain creeks and murmuring streams.
In the third place, all teachers arrived at the staff canteen to attend the riddle guessing and verse solitaire games chaired by Anqing Foreign Language School’s Vice President Liu Bing. All teachers demonstrated active participation, which pushed the marvelous event to a climax.
Overall, the Mid-Autumn Poetry Competition entitled ‘Full Moon& Round Heart’ was another featured activity initiated by Anqing Foreign Language School, which not only enhanced teaches’ humanistic quality and moral sentiments, promoted the construction of campus culture, but also carried forward the excellent Chinese traditional culture in addition to attracting a great deal of media coverage in Anqing City.
